Emotional Regulation for Performance

Emotional Regulation for Performance

Cognitive and somatic regulation to stay clear, adaptable, and composed under pressure

High performance relies on the ability to access and maintain optimal internal states — states that support clarity, steadiness, and intentional action. Emotional Regulation for Performance teaches participants how to work with both cognitive and somatic systems so they can regulate their emotional and physiological responses, stay balanced under pressure, and perform with consistency.

The programme draws on neuroscience, performance physiology, and behavioural psychology to explain how emotional activation, stress, and recovery shape focus, behaviour, and judgment. Participants explore what optimal states look like in practice and how to shift into them deliberately. Cognitive tools reduce internal noise and interrupt unhelpful thought patterns, while somatic practices regulate the nervous system and create a stable foundation for sustained high performance.

The experience is practical and experiential, with short theory segments followed by guided application. Participants actively listen, reflect, and practise techniques such as reframing, attention control, breath regulation, grounding, and micro recovery. They learn how to prevent emotional overload, reset quickly when pressure escalates, and maintain clarity and composure in high-stakes moments.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of Emotional Regulation for Performance, participants will be able to:

  • Understand how emotional activation and stress influence focus, precision, and judgment

  • Apply cognitive practices that enhance clarity, attention, and mental steadiness

  • Use somatic regulation tools to shift into and maintain optimal performance state

  • Employ recovery and reset techniques to maintain consistency in high-pressure environments

  • Strengthen their ability to stay composed, clear-thinking, and intentional under pressure

Why Our Courses Are Different

Our approach is experiential, grounded, and built around real-world application. Participants learn through deliberate practice, meaningful dialogue, and structured reflection—not long lectures or theory-heavy content. Every concept is immediately applied so the learning becomes embodied rather than abstract.

We integrate tools from neuroscience, performance psychology, breath regulation, and nervous system science. These methods provide clear pathways for shifting into optimal performance states and recovering quickly when pressure rises.

Who Should Attend

This programme is designed for:

  • Professionals in fast-paced or high-pressure environments

  • Leaders and teams who want communicate effectively

  • Individuals seeking practical tools for emotional regulation and reset

  • Teams looking to build resilience, stability, and consistent performance

Who Are the Trainers

Emotional Regulation for Performance is delivered by Federica Ceresa and Chad Fahlberg, supported by a small network of experts in elite human performance training, including methods used in Navy SEAL development. Federica brings two decades of experience in organisational performance and leadership culture, while Chad integrates neuroscience, mindfulness, and physiological regulation from his background in high-pressure environments. Together, they create a grounded, experiential learning environment where participants learn through practice, reflection, and meaningful dialogue—not long lectures.
